Reconciliation Action Plan: InnovateAs the Board of Newtown Neighbourhood Centre (NNC), we are proud to endorse the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) that reflects our commitment to justice, equity, and inclusivity. Located on Gadigal land, NNC is a vibrant part of the Newtown community, which has long been a place where diverse voices and cultures come together. Justice, belonging, and social equity are cornerstones of our work.
Our endorsement of this RAP is a pledge to act with intention and purpose, recognising the enduring impact of past injustices on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge the disproportionate challenges faced by these communities in areas such as homelessness, incarceration, and health, and we are committed to addressing these inequalities through meaningful actions. The RAP is more than a document; it is a call to action. It challenges us to continue fostering a community where everyone belongs, free from racism and discrimination, and where reconciliation is not just an aspiration, but a lived reality. As we move forward, we commit to working together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to build a future that honours our shared history, celebrates our diversity, and creates a just and inclusive community for all. |
