English and Literacy ClassOur free English and Literacy classes have resumed on Monday and Wednesdays from 10.30 to 12pm.
The class is held in the Rainbow Room and is open to anyone. No registration is required but all group participants needs to show their vaccination certificate. For any enquiries please call 9564 7309. |
Chat N Connect/Orange Sky LaundryChat N Connect operates on Thursdays at the Newtown Mission from 10am to 12pm, where you can also have a free cup of coffee or tea on us.
The Orange Sky Free Laundry service also operates in Pride Square (Newtown Hub) on Thursday mornings from 10am - 1pm with the last wash at 12.30pm. Learn more > |
One Stop ShopNewtown Neighbourhood Centre (NNC) hosts a weekly One Stop Shop at Newtown Mission, bringing together a hub of essential services including Centrelink and Housing NSW, who can provide face-to-face assistance to all members of the community.

Smart RecoveryWe are now running a ‘remote access’ SMART Recovery meeting, each Wednesday afternoon from 4:15-5:15pm.
Targeted at youth aged 14-19 years old, this private group can be accessed via Zoom. Newtown Public Housing CollectiveThe Newtown Public Housing Collective (NPHC) is a collaboration between local agencies and community. We work together to support public housing residents in Newtown build a stronger and more resilient community.
The Collective was established in 2020, members of the collective include Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, Inner West Council, Sydney Local Health District, Marrickville Legal Centre and Mission Australia all. The collective creates opportunities for community to come together, have conversations, build relationships and address issues that are important to them. Monthly BBQ’s are held on the first Tuesday of the month at Matt Hogan Reserve from 10.30am-12.30pm. There are a variety of activities available to take part in at the BBQ’s including garden games, craft, board games and robust conversations. We often have guests attend the BBQ’s to talk with community members such as Jenny Leong, Newtown’s Local member of parliament, representatives from Housing NSW and Inner West Local Area Command. |
