Social Support - Inner West Seniors

The Aged Care team provides opportunities for practical and emotional support for Seniors in the Inner West and their carers.
This project enables people to continue to live safely and independently at home and to remain active and involved members in their communities. Activities include a Seniors' Social Support Group, communal lunches, and recreational outings. Seniors' Social Support Group Meets for social interaction, information sessions, games, morning tea and light lunch. Information about other relevant services is provided in order to assist people to manage their own affairs and to continue to live safely and independently at home. When: Fridays Where: Newtown Neighbourhood Centre Recreational Outings Recreational outings are organised and take our seniors to various destinations including visits to parks for a BBQ, sightseeing, museums, galleries and flower festivals. When: Monthly Where: Various destinations around the Sydney Metropolitan area. Individual transport is also available to the elderly who live in the Marrickville area. Cost: There is a small charge towards some of the services that we provide. A waiting list applies for some services. Falls Prevention Information Sheets Build stability, strength and balance to avoid injury due to falls. from the Clinical Excellence Commission.
