Meet, socialise and interact with people from a Greek speaking background
This project provides practical and emotional support, information and companionship for frail, older persons and their carers to continue to remain active and live as independently as possible in their own home and community. Seniors' Social Support Group You may participate in activities such as: information sessions with guest speakers; door-to-door transport; recreational outings; communal luncheons, interactive games and an in-house library of Greek newspapers and books. Resources are available in English and Greek. These activities are designed to support social interaction and independent living and provide respite for the carers.
Who: People over 65 in Inner West Council area from Greek speaking background When: Tuesdays 9.00am - 1.00pm Where: Herbert Greedy Hall, 79 Petersham Rd, Marrickville. Cost: There is a small charge towards some of the services and activities. There is no cost to carers for some of the services we provide.
Support Group for Greek Speaking Men The men’s group focuses on health issues and social interaction. It is a men’s only group facilitated by a Greek-speaking male worker. Structured activities include: monthly recreational outings, traditional Greek music and our in-house library service to promote health and well-being among men over 55.
