Meet, socialise and interact with people from the Communities of Former Yugoslavia

This Social Support group provides opportunities for practical and emotional support for people from the Communities of Former Yugoslavia who are over 65 and their carers. This group enables people to continue to live safely and independently at home and to remain active and involved members in their communities. Activities include a Seniors' Social Support Group, and recreational outings. 

Seniors' Social Support Group
Meets for social interaction, information sessions, games, morning tea and light lunch.  Information about other relevant services is provided in order to assist people to manage their own affairs and to continue to live safely and independently at home. Some people contribute to Wrap with Love - a knitting group that makes blankets for people in need.
When: Mondays 9.30am - 1:30pm
Where: Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, 11-13 Darley Street Newtown

​Recreational Outings
Recreational outings are organised and take our seniors to various destinations including visits to parks for a BBQ, sightseeing, museums, galleries and flower festivals.
When: 4th Monday of the month
Where: Various destinations around the Sydney Metropolitan area. Individual transport is also available to the elderly who live in the Marrickville area.
Cost: There is a small charge towards some of the services that we provide.
A waiting list applies for some services.

Falls Prevention Information Sheets
Build stability, strength and balance to avoid injury due to falls. from the Clinical Excellence Commission. 
​Available in English, Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian and many other community languages.
