COVID 19 - Room Hire Re-opening!
We are ecstatic to announce that from November 1st our room hire bookings system will be open to new bookings. Stay tuned for more exiting developments.
*All room hire attendees will need to be fully vaccinated, and room hirers must provide a completed COVID-19 Safety Plan before their booking date.
COVID 19 - UPDATED INFORMATION, EFFECTIVE 23/06/2021
Due to changing restrictions related to the latest NSW Covid 19 outbreak, we have had to place restrictions on room numbers. The 4 square metre rule is in place. This means that the maximum number of people in each room has been reduced to:
Hall = 40
Rainbow Room = 18
Small Meeting Rooms = 2

To assist us in managing our response to the epidemic, we strongly encourage the use of masks whenever accessing Newtown Neighbourhood Centre. We would also like to remind everybody of the requirement for all room hirers and their guests to sign in using the QR code at the entrance.
To ensure all staff, visitors, and volunteers remain safe, we have implemented some additional requirements. These can be found in our COVID-19 Specific Terms and Conditions available on this page, together with a copy of our COVID-19 Safety Plan.

NEW AV FACILITIES!
After receiving many, many requests, we are excited to announce the addition of AV facilities in our Rainbow Room. Hirers can now hire a data projector, complete with speakers and a special coated whiteboard for presentations and videos. This was possible due to a grant provided by the NSW State Government under the Community Building Project.
PRICE CHANGES, EFFECTIVE 1/3/21
Due to the addition of the AV equipment in the Rainbow Room, the bond for this room has now been increased to $400, in line with the Hall bond. Current hirers with an existing bond in place will not need to pay the additional amount unless hiring the AV equipment or undertaking activities that may increase the risk of damage to the equipment.
The bond for the Small Meeting Rooms will also increase from $30 to $50.
Bonds are completely refundable provided no repairs, replacements, or cleaning is required.
Regrettably, we also need to increase the price of using our insurance cover. Due to a significant price increase from our insurer, we now need to extend this increase to hirers. We have been carrying a loss on this insurance for a number of years. The new cost will be $55 per day ($100 for large events). As always, there is no obligation to use our insurance. We encourage you to obtain your own independent insurance policy where possible.
