Good Neighbour ProgramThe Good Neighbour Program links home visiting volunteers with isolated older people, or those living with a disability within the Inner West LGA. Through regular fortnightly visits, volunteers provide company and encouragement, friendship and interest. The volunteer’s role can involve a wide range of things depending on the client’s needs, mobility and interests.

Multicultural Neighbour Aid - Former YugoslaviaThe Multicultural Neighbour Aid Project provides opportunities for practical and emotional support for people from the Communities of Former Yugoslavia who are elderly, frail aged and their carers to meet, socialise and interact with others. This project enables people to continue to live safely and independently at home and to remain active and involved members in their communities.

Shopping AssistanceNewtown Neighbourhood Centre has three types of shopping services for Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) eligible clients. This includes the frail aged, younger people with disabilities and their carers living in the Marrickville area.
It is a basic support service for people still living at home who no longer drive and have difficulty accessing public transport. Trips may be made to Marrickville Metro on a fortnightly basis and for a small fee. Learn more > |
