The Newtown Neighbourhood Centre has three types of shopping services for HACC eligible clients. This includes the frail aged, younger people with disabilities and their carers living in the Marrickville local government area. Trips are to Marrickville Metro on a fortnightly basis.
For a small fee services include:
- Door-to-door bus service with assistance carrying bags on and off the bus into your home. Volunteer assistance is available.
- Door-to-door car service with assistance shopping and carrying your bags
- List shopping for shoppers unable to access a car or bus. A worker can pick up and deliver the shopping to your home.
People living outside the area can contact Newtown Neighbourhood Centre for information on similar services in their suburb.
