100% of the money raised from the Festival goes right back to the community by means of providing services to people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless, people who have a disability, people living with a mental illness, people who are new to the area, people of a non-English speaking background. We now provide in addition to our other services community bbqs. not-for-profit bingo, wrap with love (knitting group) legal service for homeless people, child protection resources, women's craft group and a budgeting service.
In the past funds have been spent on things such as:
funding a Community Development worker position
- buying a car to provide a shopping service for people who cannot go themselves
- a computer was purchased to provide free internet services to the community
- free community bbq's are frequently provided from the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre
